Snicker Cookies!

  • The other night, I was really bored and my boyfriend was about to come over, so I decided to bake something! I had all of the ingredients to make the actual cookies themselves, but I did not have any goodies to put in them. I usually just stick to the usually semi-sweet chocolate chips, but being since I recently ran out, I saw this as an opportunity to be creative! I went up to the corner convenient mart (one of the many joys of living in a small town) and grabbed two king size Snicker bars and one king size Three Musketeers. After I prepared the cookies using a really simple recipe of:
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract (a little something extra that I choose to add, but this specific recipe does not call for)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup of milk (as needed--my dough was a little dry, so I took the liberty!)

I preheated the oven the 375 degrees Fahrenheit. I then cut up the two king size Snicker bars and placed them in the dough. I decided to keep the pieces fairly large to add a little more punch to the cookies! Next, I greased two baking sheets with cooking spray (you can also use parchment paper or just good ol' butter) and I placed the cookies on the sheets in about dollar to half-dollar sized globs. Put them in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit and ten minutes later I had some delicious Snicker cookies! They are amazing! At first I was not for sure if the caramel was going to be too sticky an stick to your teeth, but after trying one I had no remaining fear! I actually had to guard the cookies to keep my dad away from them; he liked them a little too much!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I did not use the Three Musketeer's bar because I was not quite sure how the fluffy chocolate would act in the oven--another experiment for another time.
